I am not one who is comfortable with strength training since exercise to me has always been jogging all these years. Therefore, I joined a basic exercise class (and realised that what I learnt could be found in any fitness book in the library). In any case, since I attended the 3-day class, I shall share what I learnt.
- Important to maintain neutral spine during strength training exercises
- Avoid over-extending joints and back
- Do not use momentum when doing the exercises
- Breathe
- Keep abdominal muscles tucked in to protect the back
- Drink water about half hour before and during exercise
